From 7 November 2012 to 3 February 2013 a fascinating video projection, Eyjafjallajökull, by French artist, Joanie Lemercier from AntiVJ will reside in our gallery as part of Light Up Digital.
Drawing inspiration from the Icelandic volcano which wreaked travel havoc across Europe in 2010, AntiVJ’s Eyjafjallajökull, is a stunning 3D projection that challenges the audience’s senses. As visitors are mesmerised by the constantly changing projection and optical illusions, they question their perception of space, depth and distance.
The exhibition also includes the products of a week-long residency with local students exploring the magical world of video mapping.
Light Up Digital is supported using public funding by Arts Council England.
