‘Traces’ is a new interactive artwork that encourages the user to adopt the role of performer. It is an immersive, abstract mirror that offers an alternative approach to using the body to communicate emotion.

Depth sensing cameras and custom software are used to capture and process movement and form. This data is visualised as an abundance of particles and ribbons that flow and fill the space offering transient glimpses of the body.
'Traces' relies on continuous movement in space in order to create shadows of activity. Once the performer stops moving, the particles fade and disintegrate over time, and the piece returns to darkness.
