Following a recent call for submissions to their annual Summer Exhibition, we've been inundated with entries from artists across the Sandwell Borough.
Over 125 local artists with a connection to the region submitted artwork to be considered for our fourth open exhibition, and will now see their work displayed alongside Turner Prize award winners including Tracey Emin, Martin Creed and Jeremy Deller.
Over 175 pieces of work have been selected for display by the panel of judges, including artwork from a selection of different types of media including photography, oil paintings, watercolour, charcoal drawing and 3D work.
In 2013 submissions followed the themes People and Places, with entries including artwork by Active Arts, an Oldbury based community arts project for people with learning difficulties, a 3D dog made entirely from hats found across in the region, by Christine Hardy, a watercolour Black Country montage, by Max Vann, as well as artwork from his son, Alex, daughter, Kate and grandaughter, Lizzie.
