The Public is now closed, read testimonials from delegates who used the Conference and Hires facilities:

"This year’s Forward Together event was a pleasure to run and much of this was down to the professionalism of the team at The Public. Many delegates commented on the suitability of the venue, the friendliness of the staff and how much they had enjoyed just being in the building. Thank you to everyone at The Public for their hard work from everyone on the Forward Together team - brilliant! "

Wow what a venue, we had a great day at the Virgin Media Billing Services Strategy Day. The event was a roaring success and this was down to the venue and the professional and helpful attitude of The Public's staff and management. The venue itself really was a state of the art venue and fitted well with the Virgin Media ethos of Innovation and Technology. From the moment we arrived everything was well run and nothing was too much trouble. The buffet lunch was excellent and the day was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

"Thank you for all your help with the event we hosted at Everyone was so professional and supportive, and problems we encountered were dealt with so efficiently that it made an awkward event run more smoothly than we thought possible! Can’t speak highly enough – thank you. "

"On behalf of everybody involved with the Words, Signs & Vibes Youth Theatre we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at The Public for hosting our Christmas Performance of Peter Pan and for doing everything possible to make the day run smoothly. Everyone involved with our youth theatre including the young people, volunteers, staff, parents and audience, thought the venue was a fantastic space to hold our performance.

Due to our Youth Theatre being an integrated group of Deaf and hearing young people aged between 13-18yrs old, the audience also being a mixture of Deaf and hearing people and the performance being signed and spoken; we have various needs that must be met in order to make our performances accessible and run smoothly.

We have one member of our youth theatre who is a wheelchair user, profoundly Deaf, partially blind and has cerebral palsy. Due to this he has limited use of his body and uses a speaking aid to communicate by holding a pointer in his mouth to press a keyboard that speaks what he types.

We struggle to find theatre settings that have a stage that is accessible for actors in wheelchairs, so to find The Public’s theatre that can be used without the optional raised stage was fantastic. It couldn’t have been more perfect.

Also the huge projection screen at the back of the Theatre enabled us to add ‘stage text’ to our performance which is so vitally important, and we were able to explore new styles in our performance that we have been unable to do in other theatres. Everyone loved the venue and the young people have expressed how much they would like to perform at The Public on a regular basis. "

"Many thanks for hosting the BBC WM Spending Debate on Thursday 17th March 2011. The professionalism and helpfulness of ALL the staff was excellent. We would especially like to highlight the excellent help and support from Cathy, the duty manager on the night and Qudeer Arshad for accommodating our requests on the run up to the event. BBC WM will definitely consider using the Public as a venue for future events. "

"On behalf of Birmingham & Black Country Foundation, I would to thank all the staff at The Public for all their support at the Fair Share Trust Away Day event on Saturday. In particular, the technical and all the catering staff. All of your staff worked over and above to make sure that the event ran smoothly. All the delegates commented on your wonderful venue facilities and how professional your organisation was run. We would use your venue again in the future and will certainly be recommending it to other organisations. "

"The Public was a great place to hold my team meeting. It was easy to find and the customer service and food was excellent. Everybody found the bright colours cheerful and it was great during lunch to have a walk around the gallery – and seeing 80 tea dancers using the LongRoom was quite an unexpected delight! Not the usual thing we’re used to seeing from other venues. Many thanks to everybody for a great day."
